Tangerang, Indonesia – [8 May 2025] – ARCH:ID, Indonesia’s most awaited architecture forum and trade event, returns with its fifth edition from 8–11 May 2025 at ICE BSD City, Hall 5–7. Initiated by the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI) in collaboration with PT CIS Exhibition, ARCH:ID 2025 carries the theme “Performative Archipelagos” and strengthens its global presence with a dynamic international conference, the debut of a Business Matching program, and a larger, more inclusive curation of exhibitions and speakers. The event will commence with an official Opening Ceremony, led by Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Works, Ir. Diana Kusumastuti, M.T. marking the formal inauguration of ARCH:ID 2025.
Curated by three distinguished Indonesian architects — Ar. Alvar Mensana (mensanaDANteman), Ar. Achmad D. Tardiyana (Urbane), and Antonius Richard Rusli (Rad+ar) — the event presents multiple points of view that bridge tradition and innovation, urging attendees to see architecture as a catalyst for cross-sector impact.
Positioned at the heart of the exhibition hall, Khatulistiwa serves as the main installation of ARCH:ID 2025. Named after the equator for its central role in balancing the exhibition’s energies, Khatulistiwa embodies three core visions: as a centerpiece, connector, and public space generator. These were translated into three architectural components—the Head, Body, and Base. Khatulistiwa marks the largest installation in ARCH:ID’s history, realized through a remarkable collaboration with ATEJA, Tatalogam, GRC, ASAKI, Thunder, Garuda Yamato Steel, in-Lite, and Cityneon Prima Mandiri.
President of the Indonesian Institute of Architects (IAI), Ar. Gregorius Budi Yulianto, IAI, AA, emphasized the transformative role of architects in today’s evolving landscape, stating, “At ARCH:ID 2025, we celebrate the vital presence of architects as agents of transformation within this archipelago.” Affirming this spirit of collaboration and progress, Ar. Firman S. Herwanto, IAI, added, “We invite everyone to connect, share, and be part of the movement that is shaping a smarter, more inclusive, and more resilient industry for generations to come.”
Emphasizing the event’s strategic value, Mr. Arief Raden Sofyan Rudiantoro, Project Director of CIS Exhibition, noted that ARCH:ID serves as “a strategic platform to deliver impact and greater value for companies—to strengthen their brand presence, stay agile and competitive, and forge meaningful connections with key stakeholders in the industry.”
ARCH:ID Event Highlights
ARCH:ID continues to expand its reach and impact. In this year, the event scales up with 13,000 sqm of gross exhibition space (a 53% growth from the previous year), 550 booths from close to 150 local and international companies, showcasing best-in-class products and solutions. The event also features 25 curated booths, 7 featured exhibitions, and 3 architectural installations, alongside 10 conference speakers from 6 countries, 80 Talk Series, and over 200 total speakers. Complementing the conference and exhibition, the ARCH:ID Talk Series and Obrolan Tuju-Tuju return to offer visitors insightful conversations with key thinkers and innovators in architecture, construction, and design.
Featured Exhibitions are thematic exhibitions containing information or inspiration for Indonesian architectural design. Each installation is designed by emerging architects who bring fresh perspectives. Among them, the SALING X SILANG Pavilion presents Pusaran by Hadiprana Design Consultant in collaboration with Arah Arsitektur and Studio Hendro Hadinata, a space of creative incubation that invites visitors to engage in dialogue, experimentation, and cross-disciplinary exploration. Millimeter Manifesto, by Studio Airi and nine Indonesian product designers, unites diverse approaches to reveal the unseen layers of design. Meanwhile, A Tribute: Meneruskan Inspirasi dan Pemikiran Prof. Mohammad Danisworo, curated by M. Archica Danisworo and Kevin Trikusumo Febriansyah, is a tribute exhibition honoring the late Prof. Danisworo, an architect who played a significant role in shaping urban design in Indonesia since the 1970s.
This year’s edition is further enriched by the Hackathon, Business Matching, and Student Exhibition & Competition, providing a dynamic platform for innovation, networking, and emerging talent. The Sustainable Construction Material Awards (SCMA) also underscores ARCH:ID’s commitment to sustainability and critical discourse in contemporary architecture.
